NEXCOM has released two fanless in-vehicle PoE switches to simplify the installation of in-vehicle technology to address the growing need for onboard video surveillance and internet connectivity. The fanless VES30-8S and VES30-4S feature 802.3af PoE ports and smart power management. The in-vehicle PoE switches can streamline the wiring of powered devices and provide protection against transient power fluctuation and other challenges in vehicular environments, keeping including IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points, and VoIP phones in good shape.
The VES30-8S and VES30-4S are in-vehicle PoE switches with eight and four full 802.3af compliant PoE ports. With each port offering 15.4 watts of power, the in-vehicle PoE switches facilitate device integration by eliminating the need for separate power lines and can easily bring, for instance Ethernet service onboard to enhance passenger experience or incorporate surveillance cameras to strengthen the safety and security of dangerous or valuable goods handling.
As the power source from a vehicle is unstable by nature, the in-vehicle PoE switches support a wide voltage range of 9V to 36V and provide smart power management with low battery voltage protection, power-on and power-off delay settings, and automatic power-on on ignition features. These unique features can ensure reliable operation and prevent premature failure of both the in-vehicle PoE switches and powered devices.
Dedicated to vehicle applications, the VES30-8S and VES30-4S are encased in a fanless dustproof enclosure and can operate under shock, vibration, and temperature extremes from -30 to 70°C. The in-vehicle PoE switches are also small in size and support din rail mounting for ease of installation.
