NEXCOM’s desktop appliance vDNA 1160 countenances inexhaustible possibilities of 5G applications. Powered by Intel Atom® C3000 processor family, vDNA 1160 features scalable performance, virtualization technologies, and expandable functions to provide a solid platform for virtual customer premise equipment (vCPE) and edge computing. vDNA 1160 enables provisioning customized network services over virtual networks to improve service agility and operational flexibility for telecoms.
vDNA 1160 based on Intel Atom® C3000 processor family is built for network functions virtualization. The desktop appliance has up to 16 computing cores and 64 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC memory and is integrated with Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x), Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d), Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDQ), Intel® QuickAssist Technology (Intel® QAT), and Data Packet Development Kit (DPDK) to optimize processor utilization and network throughput. To further overcome throughput bottlenecks, Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) and Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) are supported for dynamic scaling-up of network workloads.
To address application requirements of diverse vCPE use case scenarios, vDNA 1160 is equipped with two SFP+, six GbE LAN, M.2, eMMC, and SATA 3.0 interfaces. The desktop appliance can accommodate even more interfaces through board expansion, facilitating function enhancements and fast prototyping of proof of concept (POC) for telecoms.
