NSA 7120R Shrugs off Heavy Workloads As Network Communication Surges

Facing the increasing complexity and volume of network communication, NEXCOM has released NSA 7120R to help servers manage overwhelming network workloads. Based on Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 family, NSA 7120R optimizes computing resource allocation, reduces I/O latency, tightens network security, and preserves data intact by means of both hardware accelerators and new algorithms. NSA 7120R is therefore the ideal network security hardware to accommodate to computing-intensive, high bandwidth and data-critical network applications.

NSA 7120R powered by Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 family is designed to take on heavy network workloads. This network security hardware supports dual processors. Each has up to 8 cores and 20MB cache. Together with 384GB DDR3 1600 DIMM memory, 2 channels of 8.0 GT/s QPI, Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions, NSA 7120R can effectively regulate CPU resources to optimize multi-thread network processing and halve instruction execution time.

The outstanding I/O features of NSA 7120R also make huge contributions to relieving surging network communication. NSA 7120R incorporates the latest industrial standard PCIe 3.0, doubling the data throughput rate to 8GT/s. And Intel® Integrated I/O shortens data transfer routes. By moving data between peripherals and the processor faster with shorter routes, NSA 7120R, which supports up to forty 1Gb ports through LAN module expansion, makes data smoothly flow.

The data protection and security must be strengthened in line with the network communication boom. In NSA 7120R, RAID functions are offloaded to a discrete RAID controller. It helps NSA 7120R maintain high read/write rate and faulty tolerance for data-critical applications while reserving computing resources for where they are needed most. In addition, NSA 7120R applied Intel® AES-NI to data breach protection. Intel® AES-NI not only accelerates AES encryption and decryption but also increases the number of secure sessions NSA 7120R can handle at the same time.
