NEXCOM EtherCAT Master Solution Hastens Development of Industrial Real-time Ethernet Motion Control

NEXCOM has released the NET3600E-ECM EtherCAT master solution to ride the trend of distributed motion control. The NET3600E-ECM master solution features a high performance PC-based controller and NEXCOM NexECM software pack to provide industrial real-time EtherCAT motion control and application programming interface to help implement user-customized control algorithms. The NET3600E-ECM offers developers unprecedented flexibility to build a machine tool that moves as it is intended.

The NET3600E-ECM EtherCAT master solution is installed with IntervalZero RTX real-time extension module, EtherCAT stack and CiA® DSP 402 drive interface. To control EtherCAT remote I/Os and CiA DSP 402 servo systems, the NET3600E-ECM has a short communication cycle time of 250μs and supports distributed clock function to offer nanosecond-accurate synchronization of all slave devices. With a firm grasp of the EtherCAT technology, NEXCOM offers strong support to ensure the NET3600E-ECM is compatible with the EtherCAT salve devices from the certified third parties.

 

The NET3600E-ECM provides a user-friendly programming interface for developers to implement their own motion control algorithms. The EtherCAT configurator NexCAT is provided to ease design verification. The NET3600E-ECM can help developers take advantage of industrial real-time Ethernet motion control without understanding the complicated EtherCAT technology and shorten the product development cycle.

 

With the NET3600E-ECM, developers can build large size machine tools, multi-axis CNCs, and delta robots with advanced motion control capabilities, for instance dynamically adjusting parameters when a machine is in operation to optimize the manufacturing process. Meanwhile, developers can benefit from the distributed architecture which simplifies wiring, installation and maintenance workloads.

 

The whole software package NexECM is built on a NEXCOM PC-based controller based on 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i5 processor. The NET3600E-ECM delivers not only high performance but also market-proven reliability to ensure smooth and precise motion control despite long working hours. Furthermore, the NET3600E-ECM is compact in size and allows developers to save room to pack extra components or to add a degree of freedom.
