As embodied AI and humanoid robots rapidly move beyond laboratories into factories, logistics facilities, and everyday service environments, establishing verifiable and controllable safety mechanisms in dynamic settings has become increasingly critical. Enabling robots to work safely in close proximity to people is now one of the key challenges in scaling humanoid robot deployments.
As a key strategic partner of NVIDIA, NEXCOM Robotic Solutions (NexCOBOT Co., LTD.), has once again been invited to participate in an NVIDIA GTC event following its appearance at GTC in the United States this March. NVIDIA GTC Berlin will take place on October 21–22 at STATION-Berlin in Germany.
At the event, NEXCOM Robotic Solutions will continue its core theme, “Embodied AI Robots—Safe by Design,” showcasing its safety control solution for humanoid robots and the RoboWIZ AI Robot Open Platform to advance the real-world adoption of safety technologies for next-generation robotics.

The live demonstration centers on NEXCOM Robotic Solutions’ RCB400 humanoid robot controller and integrates technologies from multiple partners within the RoboWIZ ecosystem. Powered by the high-performance NVIDIA IGX Thor™ platform, the controller can handle demanding edge AI workloads and real-time motion control simultaneously.
Combined with NEXCOM Robotic Solutions' proprietary NexRTOS real-time operating system and NexECM EtherCAT motion control software, the RCB400 supports real-time, multi-joint motion control to improve control precision and operational stability.
The demonstration integrates a RealSense D555 depth camera as the robot’s visual sensing system. It captures spatial information and human positioning data in real time, providing the inputs required for subsequent safety decisions. When a person approaches the collaborative work area, the RCB400 adjusts and reduces motor speed according to the detected distance. If the person continues to approach and enters the defined hazardous zone, the system immediately stops the robot, demonstrating a safe and reliable human–robot collaboration scenario.
Beyond front-end perception and control responses, the solution also incorporates an EBK Safety MCU expansion board as the final layer of protection. The board continuously monitors the operating status of the robot controller. If a controller malfunction or failure is detected, it can immediately activate the native functional-safety mechanisms of NVIDIA IGX Thor™, helping prevent uncontrolled robot behavior and further strengthening overall functional safety and operational reliability.
The booth will also feature a Safe Human Detection scenario powered by Synapticon POSITRON Safety AI. When a visitor enters the robot’s work area, the system detects the person’s position in real time and displays it on-screen, providing a clear visualization of the functional-safety mechanism in action.
Effective robot safety cannot be achieved through a single component alone. Serving as the architectural hub, the RoboWIZ AI Robot Open Platform brings together the RCB400 “safety brain” and technologies from leading global ecosystem partners.
The result is a pre-integrated, safety-ready solution designed to support certification to international safety standards, including IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, while significantly shortening the commercialization cycle from humanoid robot development to real-world deployment:
This pre-integrated hardware, software, and safety ecosystem allows robot manufacturers to avoid rebuilding cross-platform validation processes from the ground up. It reduces repetitive component selection and integration work while bringing functional-safety requirements into the system design process at an earlier stage. This establishes a clearer engineering path toward subsequent validation, certification, and commercial deployment.
Drawing on extensive expertise in industrial control and robot safety, NEXCOM Group and its subsidiary, NEXCOM Robotic Solutions, continue to work closely with international ecosystem partners through the RoboWIZ open platform. By integrating AI computing, real-time control, and functional safety within a unified robotics development architecture, they help developers incorporate safety requirements earlier in both product design and real-world deployment.
Visitors are invited to experience how NEXCOM Robotic Solutions transforms innovations in embodied AI into robotics applications designed to meet international safety standards.
